February Spotlight Vehicle: 2022 Mazda 3
The 2022 Mazda 3 is worth your attention, whether you want a compact sedan or hatchback. This car is athletic and has plenty of features, along with having excellent value. Between its features and high-end feel, you will fall in love with the Mazda 3 as soon as you take it on a test drive at Nucar Mazda of New Castle.
Updates for 2022
If you are familiar with previous model years of the Mazda 3, then there are just a handful of changes to the 2022 version of this sedan or hatchback. They are mostly appearance-based.
The first is the Carbon Edition package which is now available. This will black out the appearance of your Mazda 3. It starts by painting the exterior Polymetal Gray. The exterior also features black on the door mirror caps, wheels, and grille surround. Inside, you get red leather seats. You also get everything from the Preferred trim on this Edition.
The only other change is adding the Platinum Quartz Metallic exterior color.
Under the Hood
With three different engines to choose from, you can easily choose a 2022 Mazda 3 with the balance of power and efficiency that you prefer.
The base engine is a 2.0-liter with 155 horsepower. It is only offered with front-wheel drive.
If you upgrade to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, you can opt for an all-wheel drive. You will also get 186 horsepower.
The most exciting engine is the 2.5-liter turbo with 250 horsepower. This engine can come with a six-speed manual transmission if you choose front-wheel drive. Otherwise, you get the six-speed automatic that comes with the all-wheel-drive system.
Efficiency
If your priority is efficiency from your 2022 Mazda, stick to the Mazda 3 sedan with the base engine. This will give you 28 mpg in the city and 36 on the highway. That being said, upgrading the engine still gives you an efficient car. For example, the least efficient is the turbo engine with AWD, but it still gets 23 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.
Interior Luxury and Comfort
One of the many reasons the 2022 Mazda models are so popular is their luxury and comfort. The Mazda 3 is no exception. Depending on your chosen trim level, you can enjoy heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a head-up display.
The vehicle also comes with a high level of tech, including a standard 8.8-inch infotainment system. Its design makes it feel even larger, and it is intuitive to use. You can also configure your 2022 Mazda 3 to include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bose audio with 12 speakers, and SiriusXM radio.
Extensive Safety
Regardless of how you configure your Mazda 3, you will be behind the wheel of an incredibly safe vehicle with lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian detection. You can also opt for adaptive cruise control that includes stop-and-go.
